APPROACH AND MISSION

The mission of EduSport Consulting Services is to translate theory into practice by providing practical, real world strategies for improving the reciprocal processes of instructional effectiveness and learning within a fun and respectful environment that facilities engagement and plans for measurable outcomes.

All training and development activities are designed using developmentally appropriate pedagogical practices (adult learner to pre-Kindergarten child) and align with core beliefs that guide the relationship with participants. These core beliefs include:

  • All participants (leaders, teachers, coaches, students) benefit from engaging in on-going and meaningful experiences that build their capacities and practices while acknowledging and utilizing their own expertise and unique strengths.

  • High quality instructional best practices that build capacities and concomitant performance outcomes are derived from research-based theories of change.

  • High quality instruction requires skills and capacities that go beyond content knowledge expertise. These include but are not exclusive to knowledge of motivation theory and how to develop skills surrounding engagement and persistence; instructional design and factors that afford or constrain performance; differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners; skill analysis and pedagogical approaches that facilitate learning.

  • All learners benefit from high quality instruction that supports social-emotional learning in addition to performance outcomes.

  • Instructional analysis and a period of continuous professional development contributes to sustainable change in individual practice and organizational outcomes.

  • Assessments are important FOR learning and help shape instructional practices in addition to performance
